CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - Military officials say three North Carolina-based Marines have been killed in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense announced on Monday that 22-year-old Lance Cpl. Christopher Rangel of San Antonio, Texas, died May 6. Authorities said 19-year-old Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Davis of Perry, Iowa, died the next day.
The military also reported that 21-year-old Cpl. Kurt S. Shea of Frederick, Md., died on Monday.
All three were killed in Helmand province. Officials provided no additional details on how the men died.
Rangel, Davis and Shea all were assigned to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.

Ooh rah, Marine! :o) I'm a former Marine wife and damned proud of it! Being a M.W. was the best job in the world...right up until I stepped on a damnit at 5 am trying to get up to make him breakfast and pack his lunch. lol Boy, howdy did they name those suckers appropriately 'cuz every time you step on one.....LOL!

I am a supporter of US Military. My Grandpa, 3 Uncles and numerous cousins serve or have served in the Army, Marines & Trooper branches combined!!

My Marine is coming to see me August 24! I cannot wait! He's been overseas since June 2011 on various deployments and jobs. Got to see him over the holidays in December and cant wait to see him again this summer!

God Bless Our Troops and their family. I am married to a US Army Ranger and it is hard on me when he is gone and called to duty. Yes we need some Heroes and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The toughest S.O.B. i have ever know has been USMC for 25 years. He served twice each in Iraq and Afghanistan and is fighting for his life now from freaking thyroid cancer. God Bless everyone who serves to protect our freedom!

lisa, that's awesome! My boyfriend is a marine and it's really difficult for troops to get home when they're needed. They miss out on so much while they're gone and it makes me feel good that there are people to help! keep it up!
